We had a wonderful day on Friday! The students rotated to all the second grade classrooms where they learned to be food detectives. This will help us when we begin our grade level research project on food waste in our cafeteria. In my room, they predicted that we do not eat all the parts of a plant, but discovered that there is at least one food for every part of the plant. We can't eat all the parts of every plant though, but many of them are very healthy. They also learned about portion sizes, how to make healthy food taste better, and how food affects our bodies. It was a great day and I received many compliments on their behavior. This week we will be focusing on graphing, map skills, our state of Georgia, and making nouns plural (wolves, dogs, mice, etc). Don't forget to sign up for a conference time! Have a great week!
