In science, we are learning about pushes and pulls. We had a great time bowling. The kids were a little disappointed that we didn't get to walk to the bowling alley, but were thankful for the busses. When we returned, they made lots of connections about how they tried heavier bowling balls, but had to use more force so they found lighter ones. They also noticed the ramps and how they made things easier for some students. When we returned, as a grade level, we created a line plot to show our bowling scores. This has been a great way to make a tricky graph more applicable to the students. It should be finished by the end of this week and is one display outside of our classroom. Thanks to the moms that chaperoned!
Next week we will continue with force and motion. We are also thinking about beginning persuasive writing. You might want to help your child think about something he/she is interested in and could make a good argument for or against. Have a great week!
